The Forgotten (2010)
Chuck (2010)
When a twenty-something computer geek inadvertently downloads critical government secrets into his brain, his former college friend turned CIA recruits him as a secret agent, all while keeping him out of evil hands.
The Mentalist (2010)
A team of the Californian Bureau of Investigation (CBI) may officially be lead by haughty agent Lisbon. However, her mediocre intelligence and methods by the book are no match for 'mentalist' Patrick Jane. Formally, the ex-medium-hustler is just a police consultant. In fact the detectives soon learn to look to him for ever brilliant and surprising observations, deductions, ploys and traps. No criminal ever outsmarts Jane - except perhaps Red John, who unwillingly motivated Patrick to start fighting crime. Written by KGF Vissers
Wishing Well (2009)
Cryptic (2009)
United States of Tara (2009)
A woman struggles to find a balance between her dissociative identity disorder and raising a dysfunctional family.
A Kiss at Midnight (2008)
Amusement (2008)
A traumatized woman is questioned by a cop and a psychiatrist about three stories involving a clown, a hotel and a convoy, that involve her and two of her female friends from childhood. The normally arty Picturehouse must have realized you can't expect to stay in business for long by offering thoughtful looks at Bettie Page, Jackson Pollock, etc. So they have opted to enter the world of slasher films, and they rounded up an inexpensive group of relatively unknown (but kinda familiar, if you want a lot of TV and/or bad indie films) faces, and sent them off to Bulgaria for a cheapie horror flick. Sure, it will fade fast from the box office charts, but those DVD monies add up quickly. Kudos to writer Jake Wade Wall, who has become the genre's go-to man.
