Next time you think being kept on hold by your telephone, internet or gas company is fairly annoying, think of Ryan Reynolds who gets put on hold endlessly. And he's buried alive.
Paul Conroy is a civilian American truckdriver in Iraq. His convoy gets hit and he wakes up in a coffin, under the sand. He has his cell phone, a Zippo lighter and some other odds and ends to get him out.
The wonderful thing about this movie is that it's all filmed inside the box. No flash backs, no other people, just Paul desperately phoning people. And still it grabs you by the throat. Spanish director Rodrigo Cortés shot Buried in only 17 days in Barcelona for a teeny tiny budget of less than $2 million. The movie has made over $18 million so far.
