Henry Hopper is twenty years old and pretty much an unknown. Of course, it always helps if your dad is the great, late Dennis Hopper! But what a way to begin your career: a Gus van Sant movie! Even though Hopper Jr. got offered more movie parts, but never found anything he liked among them: "I'm more into the avant-garde," the twenty year-old told Details.com, "more into the strange. But as a young actor, they take you while you're stupid and mold you into whatever shape they think is appropriate." 

Well, this movie, where Young Hopper plays a young man who likes to hang out with a long dead Japanese warrior and falls for a terminally ill girl (Alice in wonderland's Mia Wasikowska) sure is "the strange"!
